I made these and they were delicious I try never to deviate from the recipe, however on this one I did change a couple things.

That said, if you load the chicken tightly, it usually takes longer to bake and the tops may have a harder time browning. So it’s ok to bake the chicken in that marinate it’s been sitting in for a few hours in the fridge straight to your oven? I did it with boneless skinless chicken thighs and sub'd the olive oil with avocado oil but WOW OH WOW . this recipe is totally awesome I went and changed it up to Szechuan by adding 1/2tsp crushed red pepper instead of black pepper I also added 2 tablespoons of Balsamic vinegar for that great Asian flavor.The chicken spent 24 hrs in the marinade, then the recommended time in the oven, had the right temperature when taken out. To get a nicely browned, crisped up skin, turn on the broiler for 2-3 minutes when the thighs are almost done cooking. Thought for sure I made enough for leftovers but when I went to do the dishes, there was only one lonely thigh left in the pan. I have been doing a lot of Indian style cooking recently, and wanted to try some Chinese style cooking to see if I could do it…. One thing that helps when you grill is to butterfly the thigh so that it’s relatively nice and even. Then whilst we were making our air fryer cookbook ( you can find out more about it here) I suggested that as we have made an air fryer meatloaf before, we could easily take the same concept and convert our slow cooker recipe for doner kebab to the air fryer and make an air fryer doner kebab.

To make sure the chicken tops are nicely browned and do not dry out, baste the chicken thighs in the juices and marinade about 15-20 minutes into baking.

Then whilst you are waiting on the air fryer you can put your feet up or make the salad that you plan to serve with your doner meat. I think the idea about cooking potatoes in the sauce as well is a good one, and we will try that next time. Never left a review for a recipe but chicken can be challenging to make delicious but this recipe will have everyone asking for seconds and for the recipe too.For example, if you bake bone-in, skin on thighs at 450 degrees F, they will reach 165 degrees F internal temperature and be ready in about 25-30 minutes.
